Join us for a presentation and discussion with radical climate sociologist and carbon geographer Daniel Aldana Cohen on the meaning of a Green New Deal—why it matters for Left strategy, and how urban social movements can organize towards it.
Daniel Aldana Cohen is a political sociologist who works on the intersection of climate change, inequality, the built environment, and carbon accounting. He studies urban regions of the global North and South, especially New York and São Paulo, and is working on a book project on climate change and inequality in the twenty-first-century city. His work has appeared in Jacobin, The Nation, Public Books, and elsewhere.
