Red Emma's
We're so excited to welcome poet & comrade Kondwani Fidel to Red Emma's for a reading and signing of RAW WOUNDS, his new memoir about growing up in East Baltimore. Called "an explosive indictment on injustice" by MK Asante, Jr., this book, which often reads like a novel, magnifies and critiques the real-life structures of systemic repression and racial injustice that Fidel encounters on a daily basis - commonplace for most Black people, but overlooked by much of America. It's a powerful narrative - and one that is not just eye-opening, but relevant for us all. Don't miss your chance to grab a copy of the book, get is signed, and hear Kondwani speak!!

Kondwani Fidel is a writer, speaker, and spoken word poet who holds a B.A. in English from Virginia State University. His work has been featured in Business Insider, Huffington Post, and elsewhere. He has been published in The Root and The Afro.He has lectured and shared poetry at countless universities, conferences, and literary events around the country.Fidel is the author of Raw Wounds.
