We're stoked to be welcoming back Erik Ruin, one of our favorite artists and puppeteers for the Baltimore appearance of his new project, Prisoner's Song, a collaboration with composer Kelsey Bell. Dubbed “uncomfortably powerful” by the New York Times, Prisoner's Song is a performance created by composer Gelsey Bell and visual artist Erik Ruin about the prison experience. Using shadow puppets and projections alongside a variety of musical idioms, the piece draws on historic ballads, poetry, audio interviews with people who have spent time in prison, and other primary sources to create a fragmentary encounter with the states of mind and heart prison engenders.

$5 - $15 sliding scale suggested donation.Proceeds will be shared with Friend of a Friend, a prison-based mentoring program founded by former Black Panther Marshall Eddie Conway and others dedicated to changing their communities. http://afsc.org/...
