Does the idea of leveraging your sexuality to smash patriarchy turn you on? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get a bunch of rad women/GNC people together to voice their intimate experiences and frustrations? Do you want to meet other Baltimorians interested in sharing sexual knowledge, doubts, hopes, and questions? Come As We Are is a grassroots feminist group based in New York City. Since 2012, we’ve been organizing womyn-only spaces for conversation and artistic exploration of the sexism lurking in sexuality. It’s kind of like Our Bodies, Our Selves, but we’re doing it live. And now we’re taking it on the road. We’ve found it tremendously empowering to share our experiences with the pleasure and the politics of sex. It’s just a matter of starting the conversation. Claire and Red from Come As We Are will talk about building a consciousness-raising platform for feminist sexual exploration and hope to meet other activists in Baltimore who do similar work (or want to start!).
