Curtis Black is a Baltimore Native who has dedicated his life to understanding and helping others. His recently-published children's book, Differently Abled Me, encourages compassion and understanding in children and adults. He will read from the book but will also answer questions and foster dialoge about supporting children with different needs. http://abledifferently.com/

This touching story highlights the early friendship between Randy, who is friendless and mobility impaired, and Sandy who discovers that she has a lot more in common with Randy than expected.

Randy and Sandy show that the differences that seem to separate children with disabilities from others are not important and that what often makes us different and unique can be used to bring joy to the lives of others.
