Red Emma’s

As many of you know, RAF’s main business is giving small grants to local activist groups and individuals.  Since 2010, we have given 45 grants totaling $112,000.  You probably have heard of some of our grantees – the Algebra Project, United Workers and the Indyreader.  Other grantees are less well-known.  Organizing for a Cooperative Market focuses on providing low-cost healthy food to low- and middle-income residents.  Sistahs of the T is a support and adovcacy group of black transgendered women.  The Theater Action Group consists of artist/organizers who sponsor participatory political theater around the city.   More of our grantees are listed on our website rafbaltimore.org. 

Our funds come mainly from the proceeds of the sale of the Progressive Action Center in 2009.    Consequently, each grant lowers our principal.  Tax-deductible donations from generous folks like you will permit us to sustain this vital grant program for many years to come.  You may donate on-line by going to our website (rafbaltimore.org) and clicking on the “donate” link.  Or, you may send a check to RAF at PO Box 39448, Baltimore MD 21212.
