The Baltimore Uprising of 2015 has made a lasting impact on the city particularly amongst young people. We’ve heard extensive analysis and reflection from any number of individuals and organizations, but the voices of young people must continue to be uplifted. Please join us and students from Patterson High School as they share their writings and reflections on the state of the city, and their experiences during the Uprising. “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please”  --Mark Twain  "My name is Jessica Branch and I’m a Junior at Patterson High. I am making a zine that talks about the Freddie Gray case and how people felt when they heard about it.  So many people have different opinions and different perspectives about the case and that is why I had different people share their stories with me inside of my zine. This zine is very powerful to me because other teenagers use stories, poems and even music to talk about their emotions when they heard about the incident. I believe that everybody cannot come to a conclusion on what happened because they’re blinded by social media and what they tell us."
