Red Emma's
ON INSTAGRAM LIVE @redemmas MIC LIST SIGN-UP: tinyurl.com/VibeMicList   We’re physically distant, but we are, and must now be even moreso, socially—I dare say, poetically—together!  The Struggle continues, and thus the poetic arts must as well!  Join us for an online open mic of justice, conscious thought, spirituality, fam, real life—whatever advances the village!  In the tradition of Emma Goldman’s “Mother Earth” magazine, come drop some rad “fiyah” on us, or contribute just with your presence and energy.  Our theme is “Peace, Justice, Poetry!”  By the way: it’s a non-erotic venue, so rather than a love & erotica evening, we focus this night on justice and other matters of life.  And, almost needless to say, leave the misogyny, homophobia and other unnecessary ish outside!   In these surreal times we need the poetic wisdom of Proverbs! Lyvonne Proverbs, a New York City native, is a poet, writer, preacher, transformational speaker, educator and Emmy-award-winning media producer!  She is a former member of Verbal Slap, the slam team representing Connecticut nationally and regionally, and has performed individually on various stages across the country.  A former pastor and spin instructor, Proverbs offers consulting for sacred and secular institutions, as well as individual and group spiritual life coaching.  The TEDx speaker has been featured in ESSENCE, Cosmopolitan, and The Washington Post Magazine and Sojourners.  Currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, she is a graduate of Seton Hall University, Yale Divinity School, and Columbia Theological Seminary.  Proverbs is the founder of beautiful scars, a healing-centered storytelling agency focused on fostering resiliency, and has served on the board of Art and Abolition, an organization that exists to heal, empower, and protect young girls in Kenya who have survived male sexual violence.  She is available for performance, transformational speaking and workshopping.  https://lyvonnep.com/ IG, Twitter: @lyvonnep, @WereSurthrivors Facebook: Lyvonne Proverbs; beautiful scars patreon.com/lyvonnep (lectures, sermons, and articles on Spirit, sensuality and sexuality) CashApp: $LyvonneP Venmo: @LyvonneP paypal.me/LyvonneP   Holdin’ it down for the evening is Analysis—poet/spoken word artist, rad minister and bookseller, educator, justice & human rights theoretician… Y’all know what’s up!  www.facebook.com/analysisthepoet  Twitter and Instagram: @analysisthepoet www.artistEcard.com/analysisthepoet CashApp: $AnalysisThePoet   *The MIC LIST sign-up page will be posted 24 hours before the event (6PM Eastern, Friday May 1).  If time permits we will take names onto the list during the event as well, after those who have signed up have performed.  Again, this will only happen as time permits.  One piece.  5 minutes.    In lieu of our usual collection to support the feature, PLEASE consider supporting her through CashApp, Venmo or PayPal.  Support the artist!   (Mature language and themes may be involved; not suggested for younger children.)    Remember: PEACE, JUSTICE, POETRY!!  Will we see you there?  :)
