Join us for a conversation to resist the U.S. interconnected occupation of our lands: From Puerto Rico to Baltimore to Palestine!

Blatantly ignoring the will of Puerto Ricans on the archipelago, Esencia was approved by the far-right Puerto Rican government on July 31, greenlighting a massive $2 billion “luxury” colonial development project aiming to seize over 2,000 acres of land, spanning three miles of beaches in Punta Melones, Cabo Rojo. This occupation of land to serve the wealthy elite and accumulate capital is in addition to the already 20,000 acres occupied by the U.S. military in Puerto Rico - all of which directly impacts the livelihoods of Puerto Ricans.

And in the same vein, the genocidal U.S./Israeli “Board of Peace” in Gaza and the West Bank aims to crush Palestinian self-determination through the annexation of their land to serve the vision of U.S. corporate wealth. The U.S. is simultaneously installing a new military base to uphold the power structures to enforce this illegal barbaric vision of ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people.

Similarly, we see the streets of Baltimore City occupied by U.S. militarization trained by the same deadly forces committing genocide in Palestine and using Puerto Rico as a staging ground to wage illegal wars across Our Americas. Police and ICE forces coordinate physical, economic, and psychological warfare tactics in an attempt to keep working class Baltimoreans in line with the status quo, where the exploitation of workers serves state and capital interests.

These are the realities of U.S. imperialism: occupation of our streets, our land, our beaches to serve U.S. ruling class interests at the expense of the lives of colonized and oppressed people. Together, we’ll collaborate on ways to build collective power to resist U.S. occupation and defend ourselves, our city, and our land - from Puerto Rico to Baltimore to Palestine.
