The Maryland-Cuba Solidarity Coalition invites you to a film screening of MAESTRA (2012), which explores the story of the 1961 Cuban literacy campaign through the personal testimonies of the young women who eradicated illiteracy in rural communities throughout Cuba – transforming the island, and themselves, in the process.
