This the first installment of the Fundamentals of Organizing Training Series by The Cornerstone Project (https://cornerstoneproject.net/)
The past eight months have taught us how difficult it will be to get the US political class to stop aiding and abetting genocide. It will require a long term effort by thousands of people on multiple fronts. You might be wondering, how can we sustain this movement for the long haul? How do we grow the number of people involved in our movement so our core organizers don’t burn out? How do we convince more people to stand for justice and liberation, so the powerful can no longer ignore us?
In the first part of a series on long-term organizing for a Free Palestine, organizers with the Baltimore-based Cornerstone Project offer this 2.5 hour training on how to have an effective organizing conversation (the “rap”) and teach you how it is done.
You will walk away with: 1) confidence to recruit new people to the fight for Palestinian liberation 2) an idea of the fundamental structure of an organizing conversation and 3) an example rap which you can adapt and use in multiple organizing situations.
Who is this training for?: Anyone from any level of experience and exposure to the Palestine struggle is welcome. We especially welcome those who have been recently activated around the fight for Palestinian freedom and want to deepen their organizing skills so you can continue to fight for liberation. You do not need to be involved in an active campaign to benefit from this.
This is NOT for: Those who want to have a "debate" about Palestinian liberation.
When: 8/3, 1-3:30 PM
Where: Red Emma's Free School (3128 Greenmount Ave).
Cost: Free, but donations to Palestinian organizations are appreciated.
