We're happy to host a very last-minute stop by the Peace Poets from the Bronx! The Peace Poets are a collective of artists that celebrate, examine and advocate for life through music and poetry. Their art can take you on a journey from the Boogie Down to Berlin, from the border to the bodega. The Peace Poets fuse their words with beatboxing, storytelling, and live music to raise awareness on social justice issues regarding police reform, immigration rights, gender equity, individual transformation, and community empowerment.

More about the Peace Poets:

The Peace Poets have shared their art in prisons, community centers, refugee camps, classrooms, war zones, suburban libraries, youth detention facilities, rallies, protests, and on the blocks they live on. They perform not only at most major venues and institutions of higher learning throughout New York City and the surrounding area, but also in the subway, in soup kitchens, at shelters, and even in places as unexpected as courtrooms and rehab centers.

They have performed in over 40 countries, and notable venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, The AdColor Awards and Industry Conference, The Hip Hop Cuban Symposium (La Havana, Cuba), and The Hispanic Heritage Awards. They have also had the honor of sharing the stage with Harry Belafonte, Dr. Cornel West, Danny Glover, Amiri Baraka, Rosario Dawson, and others.

Their work centers around their love for people and the connection that we all share… or as they put it: “Estamos Juntos, We are Together.“
