Drawing upon Buddhist wisdom and Joanna Macy’s The Work that Reconnects practice, the podcast takes us into the deep intergenerational friendship between Joanna and Jess while offering practices for connecting with gratitude, honoring pain and loss, and fortifying ourselves and each other for the Great Turning, the building of “a more just and life-sustaining society.” The WATGT Podcast club takes up Joanna’s invitation to engage collectively with the teachings of interbeing, the Bodhisattva path, witnessing, and love for the world offered in the podcast, and to practice meeting the climate crisis and other fallouts of modernity with love, courage, and connection.
The five session podcast club will include discussion and reflection, guided exercises based in The Work That Reconnects, and guided mindfulness meditation practices. No prior meditation experience is required, only a heartfelt desire to build community based in respect, truth, and compassion.
The WATGT Podcast club will be facilitated by Karen Taylor, a Baltimore based psychotherapist and certified meditation teacher who specializes in trauma and climate psychology. More about Karen Taylor is available on her website. https://www.futurepathcollaborative.com/meetkaren
Inquiries can be sent to karen@futurepathcollaborative.com.
In order to support the group process, commitment to attending all five sessions (Thursdays, January 9, 16, 23, 30 & Friday, February 7) is encouraged and registration will be capped at 14 people, so please reserve your spot today!
