Why do we even have bosses? Is workplace authority just about organizing tasks—or is it a deeper structural issue built into the way our society works?

Join us for the next Portico Society gathering, where we’ll discuss Yunhyae Kim’s paper "Subjection to Authority in the Workplace: A Basic Structural Problem." Kim challenges the idea that workplace hierarchy is natural or necessary and asks us to rethink how labor and authority are organized.

No philosophy background required—just bring curiosity and a willingness to question the everyday.
