Baltimore students, please join Writers in Baltimore Schools for a Write-In for Ferguson. And while Ferguson prompted this event, we're going to be speaking and writing about police brutality much more broadly. The Write-In will provide you with a space to discuss, write, and share your thoughts about the recent events in Ferguson, New York, and elsewhere. We'll begin by reading a few short pieces that were written in response to the recent verdict and discuss how their authors used language to convey their feelings. Then you'll have a chance to write and share your own work. We plan to compile excerpts of student responses online (if students wish to share). Family members are welcome to accompany students.
